Where to even begin with these two… Kelle and I met in 2016 when we started working horse shows together. Well I say “working” but really we were having the time of our lives. We would laugh and dance and be silly like middle school girls at a sleepover. Memories in Lexington, Louisville, Tulsa, Orlando, and Nashville… But like the kind of memories where your abs are sore from laughing so much. Anyways, she met her Prince Charming (in his American flag pants and cowboy hat, nonetheless) at Stagecoach Music Festival and their love story began. This year, they packed up their lives, moved to Austin, bought a house, and decided to wed. Lucky for me, I’m finally front row and got to celebrate each step along the way with them.
When Kelle asked me to be a bridesmaid, I was honored. When she asked me if I’d also capture their special day, I was even more honored. The whole gang flew out to Kauai where we enjoyed a magical snorkeling tour that included sea turtles, dolphins (even baby dolphins!), the bluest ocean you’ll ever see, and cliffs fit only for Jurassic Park. We chowed down some delicious food and stretched our pants to the max at a luau. We explored hidden beaches you could only get to by climbing down a muddy rope. We enjoyed mimosas with a vista that is truly unbeatable. Then we celebrated their love story in a beautiful ceremony full of laughter.
Right before the ceremony, it rained for about 15 minutes. Lucky for us, it cleared out just in time. Even luckier for us, it produced so many waterfalls on the mountains behind them that it became a breathtaking backdrop straight out of a fairy tale! It really was the perfect trip with some special people. I will hold these treasured times close to my heart for years to come… Thankful. Thankful. Thankful.
